Perfect! Excellent! Awesome! Couldn’t ask for better care!
I was referred to Dr. Dayaker R. Mallipeddi, MD who is a Gastroenterologist in Columbia, Tennessee at Mid south GI. I was referred there because I was having severe intestinal and stomach issues for at the time 4-5 months. Before I was seen by Mallipeddi I had been in and out of the emergency room 2 times and the last time they took imaging of my gallbladder. They didn’t find gall stones in those images. As some of you may know Dr Mallipeddis office is not out of Maury Regional so any testing done at the Columbia hospital isn't automatically shared with his office. Meaning they have no access to it without my consent. When I first met with peddi he was very polite and had great beside manor. He seemed to be genuinely concerned and wanting to I help. He immediately made an appointment for two weeks following my first appointment. This appointment was scheduled to scope the inside of my stomach. Which I was ok with. Absolutely need to rule out all possibilities and why not start with the stomach? I went to the appointment, the staff was all incredibly friendly and I had a great experience and safe procedure. I had a follow up appointment made. I was called before my follow up by Peddis office to see if I wanted to keep my appointment. That was extremely frustrating to me because why wouldn’t I? They hadn’t helped me. I was no better. They had the nerve to call me to ask if I wanted to cancel. I was outraged at that and extremely hurt. Obviously I kept my appointment and I expressed that I was not happy about the call to the receptionist. They found nothing wrong with my stomach other than some acid damage from heartburn. So naturally you would think he would look into my issues further. Maybe run some more test of his own on my gallbladder since you don’t have to have gall stones to have gallbladder issues. He had no interest in viewing my imagines from the hospital nor getting his own and he had no interests in going in with a scope on the other end since I am in fact having severe intestinal pains. He chalked it up to and I quote “It’s probably just IBS” you can imagine my disappointment and frustration when I basically in a nutshell got a FU from him and no further guidance on what to do. He also exclaimed that I “come back” if I continue to have issues. Now a year later and changing my diet countless times also fasting I am still no better. I am very much miserable and day to day functioning is very difficult. I’m also afraid to eat food of any kind. My quality of life has declined. I cry daily and I’m in pain all day everyday. I don’t sleep well and most nights I have to sleep with a heating pad on my stomach: I don’t drink soda and I don’t eat spicy food. I cut out potatoes and eat less pasta and less fast food. I fast most days during the week. I go all day without eating to come home and have supper and be in pain anyway. I also don’t drink alcohol anymore but I never drank much anyway. despite my all my efforts I am physically miserable and I have no desire to see this man again. A good doctor doesn’t turn a away his patients leaving them hopeless and un helped. The only reason I left 2 stars was for the wonderful staff.
The facility was very clean and the nurses were friendly. The anesthesiologist was the best I’ve ever encountered. Just not a fan on the “drive thru “ feel and wasn’t happy about the doctor I saw. He was abrasive and didn’t explain his findings at all. Embarrassed the life out of me for sure
Awful. Dr was nearly an hour late. No one gave patients or family members updates. The panic alarm went off and no update for that either. We were just left to wonder what was happening as we were in an extremely vulnerable state. I awoke from the procedure lying on a soiled pad. This was the worst care I’d ever received from a medical facility.
