Dr. Amit Choksi completed both his undergraduate and medical degrees in Bombay, India, at the Jai-Hind College and then the Topiwala National Medical College. After graduating in 1977, Dr. Choksi gained experience through training and an internship at SUNY in Syracuse, N.Y. He went on to complete his Residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., and his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He also completed an additional Fellowship focusing on Biliary Endoscopy in Amsterdam.
Dr. Choksi is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterologists and the Tennessee Medical Association. He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Prior to joining the medical staff at Maury Regional Mid-South Endoscopy Center, he served on the medical staff at Middle Tennessee Gastroenterology. He previously held the position of Chief of Medicine at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tenn., and continues to work at the hospital today.
